Sam: I have read both posts, I think you have it figured out. There was a black plastic nob somewhat like you would see on older radios. You could turn it continuous one way,it would go from white to red to white to red etc. If you turned the other way it would screw off. Mine stops working, I clean, it works. Probably been doing that for 35 of the 49 years tractor has been around. Hugh
