Karl, Presume you are trying to take shimmy out of front end. Here's how I cured mine . Took the gear off the steering shaft coming up through A-post and turned it 1/3 turn, my SMTA had a full gear whereas some are only half. Then turned the worm gear about one half turn and reinstalled everything. That way the worn teeth are not meshing when driving straight ahead. This took the shimmy out. While I was there I also replaced the upper and lower bushings (probably not right term)in the A-post as mine had some fore/aft slop. boog
