Hi Jeff, Are you getting diesel fuel in you engine oil? Is that why you want to remove the pump and adapter? If your injection pump shaft seals are leaking, they can be renewed by removing the injection pump. Just make a mark on the pump and adapter, if there isn't one already. Then remove the lines. Wire the throttle wide open to hold the governor weights, and remove the pump. Installation is reverse. If you want to check your timing, a clear plastic window is avaiable at any injection shop.
