I am an avid reader and leaner on this board but when a CASE question came up I posted it over there. I did not get the rapid response I usualy get on this board so I am going to repost it and see what comes from it. Here goes..."My neighbor is very ill with cancer and I have agreed to get his crop in for him this spring, the only problem is that while he was in bed one of his kids decided to try to haul manure (no tractor experience at all) and "started" the 1070 tractor (~100hp) when it was already running. Half of the starter gear was gone when I pulled it off, and is in the bottom of the gearbox somewhere. Is there any danger of the pieces causing damage if I leave them in there? Or should I get them out somehow, and how could I do that? It is a 1974 model if I remember correctly. Thanks for any advice" I hope someone has a response. Thanks !
