If when you pull the levers back, the engine is loading up, it means the touch control is going on by pass through the relief valve, due to improper adjustment. The stops are likely not set properly, which keeps the pressure on even though the cylinders are at the end of their travel. If the implement is dropping, you also have a problem of a leak some place and the system will be under pressure constantly to keep the implement up. Both of these situations will cause overheating because the energy has to go somewhere and where it goes is into heat.
