There is a difference for the gasoline models and the distillate(kerosene) models. Most Hs and Ms have been overhauled using the "Super Kits" with thinner sleeves and larger pistons which give a little more power. Any H or M is a 50 to 60 yearold machine and the performance may vary quite a bit from its stated HP on the Nebreska Tractor Test for the specific model. The condition of the carburetor and govenor will have a major effect on the performance of the machine. Many Ms have been modified to produce 50 or more HP. The point of this long reply is that there can be a simple broad answer, but an exact answer for a particular machine today is somewhat more involved.
