Yes, it'll cut tall grass. Depending on size of cutter, you may be in low gear if the grass is heavy. Parts are easily obtained at any IH dealer and lots of other places. You can put a loader on it, although not very commonly done. You can put a blade on it, but it will not be easy to find a front dozer blade. They exist, but are not common. Pretty easy to work on, old tractors are pretty simple. If the engine runs good and does not smoke and all the gears work, it has oil in it , the radiator does not leak, you are probably OK. Look at the engine block behind the carburator for cracks or repairs. That is where the blocks crack if somebody messed up and did not keep the antifreeze up. Check the tires for condition, and the rims to see if rusting due to calcium chloride solution leaks. Repairing rims and replacing tires is a chore and expensive. Sounds like you've got an IRS check and the Farmall fever, a deadly combination!
