I wouldn't have thought it would cause any problems as is if you are only using the tractor for light work/shows. I have seen a gear that was missing an entire tooth fixed before, although it was in a lathe, worked well and ran silently. What they did was drill a hole (pointing from the tooth towards the center of the gear) of a suitable size (roughly that of the width of the base of the tooth) and then tap threads into it and insert a section of threaded rod (I don't know if they lock-tited it in place or not). They then cut it down to match the hight of the other teeth and then ground or filed the sides to match the profile of the tooth being repaired or the surrounding teeth. This can be repeated several times until the length of the missing section/tooth is filled. Don't know if it would work for you but it's an idea. Good luck. SAm in NS
