First... After rebuilding my front bolster, I noticed that there is still about 5/32" vertical play between the bolster shaft and top bolster. i.e. when the front end is jacked up by the frame, the front wheel/bolster/bolster shaft assembly drops about 5/32" before it is caught (by the bottom of the sector gear, I suppose?) It seems like this could be fixed (if it's necessary?) by a simple washer around the bolster shaft below the sector gear. It appeared that the bottom of my sector gear may have been ground down at some point, unless this was part of the manufacture. Is this amount of play a concern? Second... Is the steering shaft u-joint a general stock item, or do I need to purchase it through my Case-IH dealer? Thanks- Krey Milltown, Indiana
