Really depends on what gear the tractor will handle the plow the best. We normally tried to run with the T/A in direct (high side). That way if you hit a hard spot then had the advantage of going to low side. If your tractor will handle the plow in a gear with T/A in low side then you have the option of shifting up to dead head across the ends. We always plowed around the field so we didn't care about that. BTW, plowing around the field is faster than plowing in lands. Though it seemed slow when you first start out, especially in a large field. boog
