clutch on 424 int wont release

just purchased a 2424 int this is the ind version of the 424. tractor has set for a cpl yrs without being run..rewired all the major things and got it running but the clutch seems to be stuck it wont release. have chained the tractor to a tree and started it in gear with the clutch pedal depressed but it dosnt seem to want to break loose..just spins the tires, any other techniques other than pulling the engine? thanks in advance for the help.
