Hi Keith, If you take the pump apart completely it will have to be put on the stand and recalibrated at an injection shop. If the head is bad you would be ahead to exchange your pump for a rebuilt pump. How did it start? How many hours are on it? The rubber ring behind the governor weights and the metering valve usually the main two things to replace on a rebuild. If it started well enough I would rebuild the pump you have. If not I would exchange it for a rebuilt, not to mention it would be much quicker. Those places can get very busy! Most shops won't put warranty on a pump exchange unless you exchange your injectors as well. Don't take long to get to $1500. Matthew in SD
