I would recomend the Rock River Thresheree in Janesville WI. I think it is about 8 hrs from Kansas City according to the map program. Its a nice show held from Aug30 to Sept 2 over Labor day weekend. There is camping available on the grounds. Generally there are 10 to 15 Steam Traction engines, and about 300 tractors. It also has a museum of industry that has 5 stationary steamers and 7 or 8 large diesels. There is a steam locamotive and a steam pile driver that is a wonder to watch. There is threshing all day, along with corn harvesting demostrations and plowing with steam engines. Many food vendors are there too. There is a saw mill too. Various other demonstrations take place during the day too, along with music at noontime and nights. A sparkshow too. Hope it may be of interest. Contact me for more information
