K.B.: I have given this some thought over night and do remember problem with 560. Does your 240 have Fast Hitch. That series of tractor being 240, 340, 460 and 560 were amoung the first to have draft control on Fast Hitch. This was controlled by a mechanical linkage from lift cylinder and rockshaft to the controll valve. Some of these were cable and some steel rods with pivots. Unlike the regular remote valve, these had a lever on both sides. One hooked to operators controll lever, the other hooked to linkage from hitch. Inside that valve there were a set of spider gears, similar to a differential. On my 560 one of those spider gears broke, This I remember caused the whole system to labour as the draft controll was always hunting, for want of a better word. I fixed this by putting a regular valve from a boneyard on and doing away with draft controll. At the time I had already purchased new 656D and 1066 and had gone to 3 point hitch. Only thing I was using 560 hitch for was counter weight on loader. The other problem with 300 happened when new and was fixed by dealer. It was the preasure relief valve, probably got new parts. Hugh
