I have a 504 farmall wide front tractor that my dad bought new in 1965(I think). The tractor steers hard. I have cleaned the filter and need to get a new one. I have checked the level in the trans by taking out the plug by the step to get on the tractor. i see there are lines that run up to the valve behind the wheel. Can somebody explain to me how it works and how does the front end tie into the steering valve ect.. The shaft runs to the front end and my expierence stops there. I have thought about starting over and putting a power steering pump on the motor and a assist on the front end. Do I need to do this. Please help! Thanks Brian.
