if your starter is in good shape 6v will be ok use 1ga cables then you wont have to rewire and change lite bulbs and resistors for the coil and on and on you are going to buy a new battery anyhow if you read this post very much you will see all the problems guys have changing them over someone is on this site every day with changeover problems you need to be knowlegable to convert to 12v these tractors started every day all winter on 6v and they will still do it you dont change your car to 24 if it dont start
