As for the M&W pump - company no longer exists and the only place to find parts or a pump is at the junkyard or from someone parting a tractor out. You would have better luck as far as availability to use the IH pump found on the Super M stage II through 450. You just have to change the timing cover and gears. Power steering from an M, Super M, MTA, 400, or 450 will fit right on your M. If you add live hydralics right away you can use that for your source of hydralic power. If not, there is a power steering pump that mounts to the side and is driven from the crankshaft by a belt. It mounts on the governor side of the engine. There are 2 types of power steering: Behlen, and Char-Lynn. I have seen them mounted under the hood and directly in front of the steering post. BobM has some scanned pages of installation procedures for Char-Lynn. To increase horsepower on your M you have a few options - how much do you want to spend? For a few bucks more than a standard overhaul kit you can get the overbore kit with step-head pistons. That is the easiest way to add some power. If you want to go all-out you can find a 450 LP head which will be expensive, but it adds compression and power. I recommend the overbore kit with step-head pistons - that is what I'm putting in my H. The Super M had a lot of improvements over the M like stronger gears, faster speeds, disc brakes (which some people don't think are an improvement) and the larger engine.
