Jeff, I agree with others that it is starving for fuel. To determine where, I suggest the following: Remove the plug in the bottom of the carb bowl. Obtain a barbed tubing fitting with the same thread as the removed plug. Install the barbed fitting in the bowl then get a length of clear tubing and attach to the barbed fitting and tie the loose end of the tubing vertically. When you open the fuel shutoff valve, the level of the gas in the carb and the fuel seen in the tubing will be one and the same. Start the engine and watch the fuel level. You can see the float action and the amount of fuel that is available for the engine. This should permit you to determine where the origin of the fuel problems exists. Good luck
