After adjusting a loose generator belt, the generator still did not charge the battery until I jumped the regulator "L" terminal to battery voltage. The tractor then received 10-19 amps depending on RPM. However, after shutting the tractor down, I noticed the ampmeter would peg its needle full to the right past 20 amps. Later, when checking the battery it was stone dead. Apparently, one of the point sets in the regulator stuck closed. Any ideas on how to restore normal charging and regulator performance? I'm using an 8 volt, 4 cell New Holland battery (no jokes about my Cub rejecting a foreign battery please, Ha Ha.)
