If you do not have strap on top of generator to tighten belt you will have to adjust it with the pulley behind the fan. It has a sloted screw and lock nut that will have to be losened before you attempt to screw the pulley sheave. It is best to get pulley losened up before you put new belt on. You will have more room to free up without the belt on. Iusually use a big pair of water pump pliers to move it instead of hitting it with a hammer and punch it does not crack pulley.
