Before you drain off any excess transmission/rear end lube check to make sure you don't have abunch of water in there making the oil level to high. The water will be on the bottom and you will have to pull the drain plug in order to get it out of there.

Be ready to get a little oily. The water will run out first and then the oil. You can make the choice wheather to drain it all and replace it with new or to put the plug back in when the oil starts to run out. Tractors that are left out usually have water in the case. I bought a "C" that had been setting out and it had almost 4 gallons of water in the tran/rear end.
