My father and I went on a trip today to look at an orange tractor I am thinking about buying. About half way there I noticed a sign advertising an antique tractor pull May 5 at 2:00. I looked at my watch, 2:30. Knowing that tractor pulls rarely start on time (at least around here) I looked at Dad and said "To h#@! with that Allis Chalmers, let's go to the tractor pull." So we changed plans and headed to the fairgrounds. There wasn't a whole lot of tractors there, most of them ran 3 or four different classes. There was probably 7 or 8 M's there, a few AC's, a few Ollivers, 4 JD's, and a W-9. The M's all did pretty well and I think won a few classes. The W-9 took the heavy classes, not by much though. However, I have to admit the best sounding ones were the Deeres. Those G's sure have a sweet ring! The sun was shining, little breeze now and then, good soup beans and corn bread, had a fantastic time! Forgot to buy a chance at the restored 140 they're giving away, get around to that later. Gotta go, just thought I'd share a great tractor day...Fireman

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
