gshaw: Cub pto is simple device. External shifter moves pto collar foward onto engine drive shaft. Once fully foward the pto is engaged. What you describe is probably caused by a worn shifter which is allowing collar to partially engage the drive shaft. Go to archives and search under "kajun" and "Cub". You will find procedure for changing shifter and collar if necessary. Regards
