Herman: All the big pieces -- engine block, transmission case, cast wheels, clutch cases --will have a casting date in a day/month/year code. Day and month will be numbered; the year will be designated by a letter code, alphabetically beginning in 1931. So, R=1948, S=1949, T=1950, U and W were both used in 1951, V was not used at all, X=1952,... you get the drift. Hope this helps you know how many candles to put on the birthday cake! RedTed/MO.
