It isn't too hard to change the gasket - just remove the hood, remove the radiator support rod (it is right above the valve cover), and then the two bolts holding the valve cover on. You may need to gently knock the hammer with a hammer to break it loose, then just lift it off. While it is off, I would suggest checking the valve tappet clearance - it should be .017 HOT, which means you should run the engine to warm it up before you remove the valve cover, and then check the tappet clearance and adjust if necessary. Then you can just reinstall the gasket, valve cover, radiator rod, and hood.
