If that is the original serial number, it is much too early for a demonstrator. The C demonstrators are roughly from # 47010 to 54411...nobody knows fore sure. A number of explanations are possible. Before getting too excited, check the casting numbers on the major castings to see if they were poured in very late 1949 (S) or early 1950 (T). The demonstrators were built in early 1950. If the casting numbers don't match up, there is another reason for the white paint. I would have to agree an authentic demonstrator is worth a little more, if it can be documented, since I would not have bought mine for the money if it hadn't been a true demonstrator. It is probably not a large premium. George Willer
