You have a few variables in here. First I would never match a disk to a tractor based on width. Some disks have different spacing between blades than others. There is also sizeable differences in weight per disk. Back when your H was new disk plates were max 16" diameter, today there are disks out there with 24" plates and they take a lot of hp. A good rule of thumb on 16" plates is one horse power per plate on the lighter disks. I pulled a 28 plate 16" with Farmall 300 in late 50s, it was a load. By late 60s I was using a 40 plate 18" on 560. And in 70s a 80 plate 20" behind a 1066. These disks all loaded the various tractors as all of them would cut axel deep without any added weight.
