Stumped on M year model

Went to a show yesterday and looked at this particular M.Serail number indicates a 1949,which makes it a M,casting codes indicate a 1952,has the disc brakes and C-264 engine,which makes it Super M.No serial no. on the engine but on the flat spot closer to the middle of the engine is 7336,which I assumed as a part number.This thing has gotten stuck in my head all night and cant get it out without your help,so "WHAT THE HECK IS THS THING",a M or Super M or just a buch of parts stuck together?My feeling is that its an early Super that someone changed the tag on at some point to possibly make someone think its a better "M" than most.even the clutch housong has an X on it.Oh and jiM,if I left out anything you can think of just add it on!
