They are very easy to rebuild. I replace the oilite bushing and needle bearings that support the rockshaft, the three piece thrust bearing, all the springs. If the rockshaft is real worn I make a new one out of 3/8" round, a roll pin will do instead of the woodruff key at the carb link lever. This keep's it "do-it-yourself". The fix for the speed control lever is a new lever (from your IH dealer)and an oilite bushing installed after you drill out the egged out hole in the cast iron housing. Also, file the wear marks off of the flyweight fingers and spacer that pushes against the three piece bearing.If you have a bearing supply store near you, you can get the bearings and bushings much cheaper than at the dealer. Regardless, the whole thing should be less than $40
