Shutters generally came on disellet(sp) or kerosene tractors. They were used to help the engine to get warm enough to switch it over to the other fuel after it was started on gas. In our part of the world, they were usually removed when the tractor was new, as most people ran them on gas all the time & shutters were a pain when you had to clean dirt from the radiator cores. Does it have the manifold shield yet? I'll bet you still have a small (1 gal, +/-) tank in front of the main tank as well. This was the tank that held the starting gas, & the big tank was the fuel tank for kero or dis. If everything works, you have something that isn't seen a lot today. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
