First, you need to know that stamped on the front tires of my M are the words "Do not exceed 25 MPH" This is real good advice. That out of the way, Here is what I do to pull my tractors. I made just such a tow bar for my H's and M verymuch the same way you are thinking. Those 2 holes in the bolster should be threaded but I can't remember the size. I took 2 pices of 2" angle iron about 6"long and drilled holes down in each one of them so a bolt could go through each one and down in to one of the bolster holes they stick straight out with the sides to the inside. I then put a pice of 2"x 5' square tubeing in between them drilled through the angle and through the tubeing and bolted through it. I put a 2' ball receiver on the end of the tubeing and I can pull my tractors around the farm. I have not tried takeing this rig on the road, I use a trailer for that. be safe, enjoy Jon

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
