study the transmission to see if the driven shaft runs in oil, or the drive shaft runs in oil. the drive shaft is connected to the clutch. the driven shaft is connected to the pinnion that turns the planetery gear that turns the bull gears and axels. the tractor wasn't meant to be pulled. my brother and i pulled a f-30 6 miles home behind a jd 60. the bearings got dry and let me know they needed oiling, so i had my brother stop so i could put it in gear and run with the clutch pushed in and in high gear. this might not mean anything but the h and m share alot of technology (and parts)with the 20 and 30 if the shaft that will turn when you pull it is high and out of oil, it will get dry-----walt
