Throw away my H head ?

I went to the tractor parts dealer to get new valves for the head on my H ( someone put in High Altitude valves )and when I gave the parts man the valve numbers I needed, he said " Throw that head away because it is a kerosene head and get a gas head ". Any thoughts? Thanks.
