Well, from this book i got here it says that the 706 diesel could have had 2 different size diesel engines. They had either a 282 cu. in. or a 309 cu. in. The 282 put out 72 PTO horsepower and the 309 put out 76 PTO horsepower. The 706 farmall weighed 7962 lbs. and the 706 international weighed 8501 lbs. As far as the experience that I have with 706's goes, I have a 706 gas, the gas engine was a major drawback but i think the diesel would make a good tractor. I do have an 806 diesel and that is a good strong tractor. Some people have told me they have had trouble with the TA's on them tractors, but I havent. We havent had any major problems with either tractor.
