1.3 megapixels is plenty if you are just planning to use on the internet. You will not even need to use the max resolution for most things. My Sony has an E mail option that takes a lowest resolution picture along with the regular for using in E mail. It's a smaller picture and would be kind of grainy if you used it full screen. 640 X480 is plenty for most internet stuff. If you want real fine, go to 1024 x 728, both within the capability of the 1.3 megapixel. If you want to have a photo finisher make nice prints, then you will have to go better than the 1.3 megapixel. Be sure to get a rechargable battery and a charger. If you try to use alkaline batteries, it will break you up using batteries. The alkalines only last about 15 minutes in my Sony and you can only take 5 or 6 pictures before they are gone. I had to go back and get the charger and sony battery pack. It lasts for more than an hour.
