I have to agree with everyone else. If you want to take pictures for e-mail and Internet, then 1.3 megapixels will do the trick. If you want to print out small pictures(no bigger than 4x6), get a 2.2 megapixel camera. If you want to print out 8x10s, you'll need a 4-megapixel camera.

I bought my parents a Kodak DX-3600 digital camera for Christmas. It's a 2.2 megapixel model. It's a great little camera ... it's very easy to use and it takes great pictures.

If you are looking at printing the 8x10s, I suggest going to Wal-Mart and getting a Minolta Dimage 4 digital camera(4 megapixels). The price is right(under $500); with a good photo-quality printer, you can get photo-quality 8x10s. It's had a LOT of good reviews.
