They are all different from the originals in one respect. The old sheet metal is much more resistant to rust. I'm no metalurgist but I'm guessing it had some tin and maybe copper in it. It is also very pliable, this shoudn't matter since the new stuff shouldn't need any dents pounded out. A friend bought a reproduction hood for his Super A at a show last summer, don't know where it came from, it didn't fit correctly. the ridges on the sides did not line up with the ridges in the grill. McMaster Carr has the proper hardware cloth. It is actually measured in squares per inch (5 is correct) not by the size of the opening although 3/16" would be close.
