Scott, take a look @ serial #, found on plate on the bell housing, the number should begin w/letters FBH or SH, then followed by several #'s (could be from 3 to 6 or more followed by letters). Then look @ Serial Numbers link @ left side of this page to figure out the year of manufacture. If plate is gone, the number is also found stamped on a flat spot on the block near the #1 (front) spark plug. Both usually have paint on them that needs to be brushed away to reveal the #. Also, check the archives, there have been lots of discussions on the differences between H & SH models. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
