Big John: Rather than let you be lured into a world of ignorance by some who prefer not haveing a clue, I checked mine on an early '48 Farmall C (#584th) which has very low time and all things are still stock. Very likely this is a factory jar regardless what the other poster preaches. It has 6 vertical ridges around the outside to help reduce fingers from slipping when turning. There are no numbers for any kind of measurments. The name "BALL" is in large script above smaller name of Perfect Mason. A small number 18 is on bottom edge and also on underside. Nothing else on it. I hope this helps inform. G.
