Very difficult question. I believe the Farmall M in its various models, ie M SuperM, MTA, etc. has far more historical value in American agriculture. It was one of the first viable series of tractors, (letter series) that made every farmer decide he needed one. Proir to the late 1930s a lot of the old timers will tell you that tractors were so trouble some they stayed with horses. My dad has told his first tractor being a Fordson. Had to keep horses to get the work done and tow start the Fordson. In 42 my dad bought a new W4. If you look at that farm, that is when the built for tractor implements started arriving. I know that happened on a lot of farms. I believe the letter series Farmall were the real break through for the tractor. The same was happening with other makes. On the other hand I know what its like to own a 560 diesel. It is just a beefed up M. It was my first six cylinder tractor. and for a young guy that had been brought up on W4, H and 300 this was truly something. My dad was baling one day with thrower and wagon behind. He was on first windrow at corner, needed a bit of brake for turning. He hit the wrong pedal, bingo, he and tractor were on oposite of drainage ditch from baler and wagon. I guess dad found quite a change also.
