Converted my 300U over to 12 volts last weekend. I used some of the old wire harness and double checked all my connections but I could't get any juice to the starter. I finally gave up and rewired the whole thing over with new wire and had the same problem with nothing happening when I turn the key. Finally I noticed on Bob M's wiring diagram a wire running from ampmeter to ignition switch. I connected a wire with two alligator clips from meter to switch and she fired right up. I was so relieved that I had to have a few brewskeys. Just want to thank Bob M for his instructions and wiring diagrams I used. I used a combination of his M and diagram for tractors with magneto's and solenoid operated starters. Just wanted to let others know in case they run into the same problem. Also I think my 6 volt solenoid is handling the 12 volts ok. Tractor starts so fast it doesn't have time to get hot.
