Thanx for the info on the quantity. I will dump in the 5 gallons and that will bring it up half way which should be enough. I don't have any plate on the top of mine except the entire 100 lb cover. There is a filler plug to the right of the shifter. I will just have to stick it and mark the rod rather than fool around searching for some overflow which may not exist. The machine is one of the last being a 59. One last thing is the hydraulic pump fed in any way by the oil in the base? That light oil doesn't seem the best choice for a rear end to me, all my other stuff uses GL5 which is much more the gear oil. Thanxs for the info.
