I recently inherited a 1944 Farmall A that i got running over the Memorial Day weekend, and it runs quite well for having been idle for many years. The distributor had been converted to 12-volts at some point in time, and the 6-volt generator had been removed. I would like to retro-fit with a 12-volt alternator/voltage regulator to keep the battery charged. As of now, I have to put a charge on the battery to have it ready to start. Any guidance would be appreciated, especially regarding aftermarket or alternative brands that easily can be fitted. I haven't tried sourcing OEM parts yet, but guidance in that regard would be appreciated as well. Thanks.
