Hi Paul - Unless a LOT of stuff fell down into the manifold it's unlikely anything made it back up past the exhaust valves and into the cylinders. And there's no way it could have gotten into the carb so you can forget about that possibility. If it were me, I'd use a hand crank and give the crank a couple of revolutions slowly by hand (ignition off!). If it turns OK, it says the combustion chambers are clear - OK to go ahead and fire it up. When you do any junk that's in the manfold/head ports will be blown out IMMEDIATELY and FAST - protect your eyes, and keep your distance from the exhaust opening while it coughs the stuff out! ...Bob
