I'll be hornswaggled!

Well, I thought I had this ol' John Deere MT traded off for a nice RED tractor, but the deal slipped through the cracks. What's a "red tractor man" to do with a Green tractor. It won't look right painted Red. Woe is me! Any JD men checking out the RED board? Whatcha got to trade? I can't haul. I been rode hard and put away wet toooooooooo many times. Pics available by the wonders of electronics through your email. One tire is a mite flat on the bottom, (actually it is quite worthless---the tire that is). I'm afraid if I put it in the barn next to the WD-9 there will just be a little green spot on the floor the next morning. Any suggestions to how I am going to get out of this mess?????

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
