Did you blow out all the passages in the carb? sounds to me like the main metering jet needs to be a little richer. Also, the transition passage in the carb might be dirty. Use a welding tip cleaner from an acetalyne torch to check the passages of the carb to make sure there are no clogged passages. Also try raising the float a little bit more and adjust the idle mixture and main metering jet and idle speed. Also, check for any vacuum leaks around the carb and intake manifold. Just my 2 cents worth. GOOD LUCK
