M Head 8777D?

Have this head for one of my Ms,cant remember which M it came from but anyways,I had someone call about wanting it and I looked at the number to confirm it.However after the D,(8777 D) it has what appears to be an I,l or 1,very much in the same manner my serial no plate is stamped on my I-4 with the I looking like a screwdriver mark.(its factory)I am not sure if really is stamped like that or if somehow it got nicked or what with a screwdriver or chisel or something but it does look like it was done on purpose.Any clues or ideas?
