Bought a fairly good set of "field" chains (the type that have "X" cross bars) from a guy last winter for $20.00. Bought some at an auction about two years ago (better) for $25. (Asphalt & concrete are really hard on field chains, so I pick them up whenever I can, as I use them all the time in the snow.) New road chains (cross bars like on a car or truck) sell @ local farm supply store for about $300-$350. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
