Not necessary to split the tractor to work on the M clutch. However, it's a dirty, sweaty, messy job down under that tractor. You have to take out the lift all. You likely can have your clutch rebuilt and save the cost of new stuff. Probably a clutch shop near you that can do the job. THat's what I did with my MD. The shop refaced the clutch disk, dressed up the pressure plate and put in new springs and supplied a new throw out bearing. While you are at it you will want to check the pilot bearing too. I don't think it's possible to get the flywheel out though without splitting the tractor. Search the archives, I've given instructions before on how to get the M clutch out without splitting.
