If there isn't any damage to the rod then you didn't spin the bearing. I've always related spinning a rod bearing to having it turn inside the connecting rod. After running low on oil and causing damage to rod bearings I would also check the cam bearings and other wear surfaces while you have it this far apart - better safe than sorry.

I would use a micrometer to check the crank and if it is within spec you could put in new bearings and be fine. They also make .002" undersize bearings if it is wore that much, although it could still be out of round.
